Job title – Works Supervisor – Nature Recovery
Salary – £30,105
Contract type – Fixed Term Appointment, Ends March 2029 (with the possibility of extension or permanency but no guarantee)
The post will initially be based at Forestry England’s Yorkshire Office in Pickering. It will move to the Dalby Forest Office in autumn/winter 2027. Regular travel around Forestry England’s estate in Yorkshire will be required. There will be occasional trips outside of Yorkshire for Forestry England‑wide meetings, which may require an overnight stay.
Alongside your salary, Forestry England contributes an average of 28.97% towards your pension. You will become a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.

Responsibilities include planning and supervising forestry operations that deliver environmental outcomes, working with the Forester – Nature Recovery and wider teams to implement nature recovery projects across Yorkshire. You will plan operations, manage contracts, monitor progress, coordinate teams, and ensure compliance with health and safety, land management and environmental legislation.
Requirements: experience in land management and contract supervision, strong planning and organisational skills, ability to manage teams and contractors, knowledge of environmental legislation.
You will be asked to write a 200‑word statement on your relevant experience and a personal statement of up to 500 words during the application process.
