Learning Support Assistant
Leader Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a welcoming and supportive SEND school in Bedale. The Role
- Full‑time, long‑term opportunity following a successful trial
- Monday–Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils in the classroom and during daily activities
- Help students build confidence, communication, and independence
- Work closely with teachers and specialist staff
- Gain practical experience supporting children with additional needs
- Develop transferable skills highly valued in psychology and education careers
This Role Would Suit You If You:
- Are a recent or upcoming graduate in Psychology, Education, or a related field
- Want to gain school‑based experience before further study or teacher training
- Have an interest in SEND, mental health, child development, or behaviour support
- Are compassionate, patient, and adaptable
- Enjoy building positive relationships with children and young people
- Are willing to learn safeguarding and behaviour‑support strategies
- Hold an Enhanced DBS or are willing to obtain one
Previous experience is helpful but not essential — enthusiasm, empathy, and a willingness to learn are what matter most.
