Tesco Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least three weeks’ notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what we’re looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store.
  • Work across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go-to person for day‑to‑day operational queries.
  • Build positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.
  • Confidently lead the store in the manager’s absence.
  • Make balanced, flexible decisions and adapt well to change.
  • Coach colleagues, give feedback and role‑model great service.
  • Stay curious and seek opportunities to serve our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a team‑lead or management position in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer’s needs are met.
  • Build positive, long‑lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
  • Be a clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
  • Possess natural leadership qualities that motivate and inspire the team to deliver outstanding results.
