SEN Teaching Assistants – Lambeth September 2026

Location: Lambeth (near Brixton / Loughborough Junction) Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time Long-term Pay: 95-110 per day Positions Available: 2 Setting: Mainstream Primary School (SEN Support)

The School & Role

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Brixton area of Lambeth is seeking to appoint two SEN Teaching Assistants from September 2026.

These roles will involve supporting incoming pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who are joining the school in the new academic year. The successful candidates will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and outside professionals to ensure pupils are well supported as they transition into their new setting.

Support will include a mixture of one-to-one assistance, in-class support and helping pupils access personalised learning strategies throughout the school day.

The school has a strong inclusive ethos and is known for its nurturing environment, clear routines and experienced SEN team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one support for pupils with EHCPs
  • Supporting pupils with communication, engagement and routines
  • Assisting with differentiated classroom activities
  • Helping implement SEN strategies and support plans
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCO and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional needs
  • Are calm, patient and adaptable
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and families
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Are reliable and committed to long-term support

Experience supporting autism, speech and language needs, or SEMH is beneficial.
