About the Role

The role involves providing physical and practical support to a young, intelligent adult to help her live independently. Duties include personal care, household tasks, assistance with university work, and support during community activities such as swimming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care (e.g. hair washing, dressing)
  • Prepare meals and hot drinks; perform kitchen duties
  • Support with household chores (cleaning, laundry, tidying)
  • Prompt and assist with medication
  • Scribe for emails and university assignments
  • Assist with computer and electronic device use
  • Help prepare for daily activities (e.g. packing a bag)
  • Support during community outings and swimming (physical presence in water)
  • Maintain accurate records (e.g. timesheets, financial logs)
  • Attend training sessions as required
  • Uphold confidentiality and follow employer’s instructions

Required Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Female (genuine occupational requirement due to personal care)
  • Good verbal and written English
  • Ability to cook, clean, and follow instructions
  • Patient, caring, and reliable
  • Flexible and punctual
  • Comfortable working around an assistance dog
  • Willingness to learn and work independently
  • Must complete a DBS check

Desirable

  • Ability to swim
  • Driving licence
  • Experience as a Support Worker or Personal Assistant
  • Experience working with disabled individuals
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19
