In this role you will undertake the delivery of household waste and commercial recycling wheeled bins, including euro containers, to properties around the borough of CEC in a courteous, safe and efficient manner following the Authority’s policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
About the role
You will deliver and remove the waste and recycling bins for households and commercial enterprises, including euro containers throughout the CEC borough. You will liaise with residents upon delivery of the bins, enter information into the Bartec system on a tablet to ensure accurate information is recorded for all jobs completed, and record any other relevant information on the tablet relating to deliveries or issues.
About you
- Knowledge of the local area is required, and you must be able to assemble and disassemble the wheel bins.
- Basic maths for adding and stocktaking.
- You’ve completed critical training in the operation of machinery designed to lift bins into the rear.
- Knowledge of applicable working procedures such as Health & Safety, customer service standards, and HR policy.
- Driving a 3.5-tonne vehicle and the ability to use technology, including the engraver application and the Bartec application.
- You are able to calculate stocks and load the correct number of bins for the delivery, put notes on Bartec, and engrave bins.
- You possess the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English, which is essential for the post.
- You have a flexible approach to work and are willing and able to travel throughout the borough.
