Bartender

Position: Bartender & Venue Host

Location: Canteen, Design District, Greenwich Peninsula

Employment: Part‑time, Immediate start

Salary: £14.80 per hour (in line with London Living Wage)

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service, serving orders promptly while showcasing personality.
• Attend to customers from 12pm to 9pm, including morning coffee and event‑goers.
• Promote and build a regular customer base, remembering preferences.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene.
• Report for duty on time, prepare shift and ensure stations have clean equipment and supplies.
• Stock bar, back‑of‑house, and floor areas; keep them clean to standard.
• Take orders, prepare and serve food and drinks, troubleshoot issues and handle menu queries.
• Work as a team, anticipate managerial requirements and communicate unresolved matters.
• Deal promptly with complaints, breakages, spillages and other service issues.
• After service, break down tables, clean stations, restock and ensure the area is tidy.
• Report any outstanding service issues to supervisor/manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in food & beverage, willingness to learn and work hard.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Full training provided; experience making cocktails or as a barista ideal.
• Food Hygiene certificate and health & safety awareness advantageous.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• Strong customer‑facing personality with a willingness to bring enthusiasm daily.
• Understanding of menu, beverage items, EPOS system, and emergency procedures.
• Ability to represent management during emergencies and handle customer assistance.
