We’re looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to join a busy conference and hospitality operation, delivering high-quality, seasonal, and bespoke menus for events of up to 400 guests. With weekly conferences and multiple large-scale, multi-day events throughout the year, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
What you’ll be doing as a Conference Sous Chef:Manage the conference kitchen, ensuring smooth and profitable food productionDeliver high-quality food for weekly conferences and large multi-day eventsPlan menus, oversee food purchasing, and manage stock controlMaintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety across all kitchen areasSupport and contribute to seasonal and bespoke menu developmentLead the team through effective communication and performance managementEnsure labour and GP targets are consistently achieved
To succeed as a Conference Sous Chef, you will:Experience in conferences or high volume kitchenBe confident working independentlyHave experience managing kitchen operations from a commercial perspectivePossess a solid understanding of health & safety and food safety regulationsIdeally hold an NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent)Be flexible working early morning and late eveningsIdeally have Intermediate Food Hygiene / Level 3 certification
