Department Overview: Nomura’s Investment Banking Division provides advisory and capital-raising solutions to corporations, financial institutions, governments and public-sector organizations worldwide. The EMEA M&A team is one of the largest and highest profile within the Investment Banking Division and comprises managing and executive directors supported by mid- and junior level bankers. The team provides holistic corporate finance advisory including strategic advisory, mergers & acquisitions, defence advisory and divestments.

Responsibilities
- Execute transactions and manage client communications, with increasing responsibility for Associates.
- Contribute to valuation, financial modelling, UK Takeover Code compliance, strategic analysis, due diligence, structuring and documentation, deal financing and process management.
- Coordinate with industry and geography teams and with other product teams (e.g., Equity Advisory, Client Financing Solutions, Acquisition and Leveraged Finance, Risk Solutions Group).
- Work on a range of transaction types including sell-side, buy-side, cross-border, public takeovers, joint ventures, asset carve-outs, equity raises and leveraged buyouts.
- Present analyses to clients and participate in training and development of Analysts.
- Maintain high-quality work and client service, in a fast-paced environment.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge
We are recruiting bankers at the Associate level. Successful candidates will likely possess:
- Experience in Investment Banking, Transaction Services or boutique advisory firms.
- Experience with regard to or willingness to learn the UK Takeover Code.
- Strong academic record and consistent high performance within their peer group.
- Desire to originate and execute high-profile M&A transactions.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact confidently with clients and professionals.
- Team-oriented with ability to work with colleagues in multiple groups or regions.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
