Who we’re looking for

  • Newly qualified solicitor with a strong background in Court of Protection
  • Experience managing or assisting on deputyship matters
  • Excellent client care skills when working with vulnerable individuals and families
  • Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and best interests decisions
  • Confident drafting legal documents and court applications
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet court deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a paperless environment
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Team player who is self‑motivated and professional

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a mixed caseload of deputyship administration matters, including complex and high‑value litigation award cases
  • Working closely with clients who lack capacity, their families and multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Advising on applicable law, procedures and legal issues
  • Drafting letters, court documentation and tailored legal agreements
  • Progressing best interests decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act
  • Negotiating with professionals to secure outcomes for clients
  • Keeping clients informed regarding funding, insurance, costs and client account monies
  • Instructing Counsel and experts where required
  • Representing clients in tribunals and court where appropriate
  • Supervising and delegating work to administrators and paralegals
