Job Description

Senior Associate (4-7 PQE) – Commercial Litigation & International Arbitration

Location: London

Build your disputes expertise. Broaden your experience.

We’re looking for a pro‑active and ambitious lawyer to join our top‑tier London team as a Senior Associate (4-7 PQE), offering the opportunity to develop your expertise across both commercial litigation and international arbitration within a leading global disputes practice.

The Opportunity

This is an ideal role for a lawyer who enjoys variety and is keen to build a broad disputes practice, working across complex, high‑value matters while developing their profile and taking on increasing responsibility.

As part of our integrated Litigation, Regulatory & Tax practice, you’ll work closely with colleagues across international arbitration, commercial litigation, and our wider sector teams.

What You’ll Do

You will play a key role advising on a broad mix of commercial litigation and international arbitration matters, including investor‑state arbitration, with the scope to shape your focus whether that is litigation, arbitration, or a combination of both. Candidates should be commercial, creative legal thinkers who are eager to develop the practice both internally and externally.

  • Advise on a wide range of commercial disputes including contractual, corporate and financial services disputes and civil fraud across a broad range of industry sectors.
  • Support and lead litigation and arbitration proceedings (LCIA, ICC and ad‑hoc) as well as high‑stakes investor‑state arbitrations (ICSID and UNCITRAL)
  • Manage disputes across all stages from pre‑action through to resolution
  • Draft court and arbitration documents including pleadings and evidence
  • Work collaboratively across our offices globally on cross‑border mandates
  • Take ownership of workstreams with support from senior colleagues
  • Build client relationships and contribute to business development.

What We’re Looking For

  • England & Wales qualified lawyer with 4-7 PQE
  • Experience in complex high‑value disputes (litigation and/or international arbitration)
  • Client focus and commitment to first‑class service with a view to developing client facing skills
  • Strong technical and commercial judgement
  • A strong work ethic demonstrated by a proven track record of meeting standard hours target
  • Personable and collegiate mindset demonstrated by good working relationships with colleagues, clients and external organisations
  • A willingness to engage in business development opportunities including client secondments
  • A genuine interest in working flexibly across commercial litigation and arbitration.
