We are excited to be partnering with a leading independent drinks business with a strong reputation across the UK drinks industry. With an extensive wine portfolio the business continues to grow through innovation, customer partnerships and category expertise.

As the company continues to strengthen its commercial presence within the Off Trade channel, they’re now looking to appoint a National Account Manager to take ownership of key retail accounts and drive profitable, sustainable growth across the portfolio.

The Role

As National Account Manager, you’ll assume commercial responsibility for the performance, development and growth of a portfolio of designated customer accounts. Combining both head office and field-based business development, you’ll be responsible for delivering short and long-term sales, profit and growth objectives in line with the company’s commercial strategy.

You’ll develop and execute customer plans by brand and channel, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensure trade investment delivers maximum return. Building strong relationships across buying, supply chain, operations, marketing and store-level stakeholders will be key to your success.

The role will also see you leading promotional planning, coordinating pricing and product launches, monitoring competitor activity and identifying opportunities through market and customer insight. Alongside account management responsibilities, you’ll play an important role in developing team capability through mentoring and coaching support.

Who are you?

  • Strong FMCG sales experience, ideally within the wine industry
  • Experience managing major multiple retailers and/or premium wine retail customers
  • Proven track record of delivering commercial growth and managing customer portfolios
  • Negotiation, forecasting and financial management skills
  • Experience managing trade spend and delivering profitable account performance
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or developing customer-facing team members
  • WSET qualification or similar wine education desirable
  • Strong analytical capability with excellent Excel and commercial reporting skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Salary: £45,000pa plus Car Allowance/Bonus/Bens

Ways of working: Hybrid with travel as required
