Job Description:

Blue Legal is partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Senior Business Development Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a strategic role supporting the firm’s global Disputes and Contentious Regulatory practice, with responsibility for driving business development and marketing initiatives, managing a high-performing team, and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

The Responsibilities:

  • Lead the business development and marketing activity for the firm’s global Disputes and Contentious Regulatory practice group, ensuring alignment with wider firm strategy.
  • Manage, mentor and support a team of BD Managers and Executives, overseeing development, appraisals and training initiatives.
  • Support annual business planning and budgeting processes, ensuring activity is delivered effectively and within agreed budgets.
  • Maintain and enhance BD infrastructure, including pitch materials, client targeting information and mailing lists.
  • Coordinate and support complex pitch opportunities, collaborating with wider practice groups and reviewing performance outcomes.
  • Plan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns, thought leadership activity, seminars and events to raise the profile of the practice group.
  • Work closely with partners and internal teams to strengthen client development initiatives, oversee submissions for directories and awards, and support the group’s market positioning.

The Candidate:

  • Significant business development and marketing experience gained within a professional services environment, with strong exposure to pitches, campaigns and client development activity.
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams, alongside the ability to build credible relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
