About this job
Psychiatric Decisions Unit and Place of Safety will mainly be based in Oleaster. The service is for CAMHS patients. The Urgent Care CAMHS team covers the whole Birmingham area with its team members working out of the 4 FTB HUBS depending on the location of the young person open to the team.
Urgent Care CAMHS supports the wider FTB multidisciplinary team and works closely with other agencies such as inpatient services, social care and education.
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive support/intervention/advice and identify existing community resources to minimise/avoid escalation towards crisis by means of specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions.
- Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers and other agencies to avoid inpatient hospital admission. Families of the referred children or adolescents are included in the assessment and ongoing management of the cases.
- Apply a range of approaches (e.g., psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive and pharmacological where appropriate) within the overall framework of the multi-disciplinary team.
