Carpentry & Joinery Course Leader – Swadlincote (DE11). Salary: £28,870 – £36,590 per annum. Permanent, full‑time position starting ASAP or September 2026.

Long Term Futures, in partnership with a Further Education provider, seeks an experienced Course Leader to deliver high‑quality teaching across Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Apprenticeship programmes. The role involves teaching, course coordination, learner progress monitoring, and maintaining strong industry links to support learner success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons across Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Plan, prepare, assess and monitor learner progress in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Support and facilitate practical workshop‑based learning and technical skills development.
  • Monitor attendance, retention, achievement and learner outcomes.
  • Liaise closely with management, employers and other departments to support learner success.
  • Contribute to course planning, organisation and quality assurance processes.
  • Support delivery of part‑time evening courses where required.
  • Promote industry standards, employability skills and safe working practices throughout all programmes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Recognised Carpentry & Joinery qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Industrial and commercial experience within the Carpentry & Joinery industry.
  • Understanding of apprenticeship systems and vocational training pathways.
  • Previous teaching experience within an FE setting is desirable.
  • Assessor qualification and teaching qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Prospective candidate should hold or be willing to work towards Level 2 English and Maths qualifications, with evidence of qualifications required.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain accurate learner records.
  • Up‑to‑date industry knowledge and vocational competence.
