Derbyshire WISH is seeking a compassionate, resilient and motivated Support Worker to join its dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting women and families affected by domestic abuse across both refuge and outreach services. This role will mainly be based in South Derbyshire.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide emotional and practical, trauma‑informed support to survivors of domestic abuse in refuge and community‑based settings. Working with a manageable caseload, you will deliver tailored, strength‑based support, empowering individuals to rebuild safety, confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing one‑to‑one emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic abuse
- Managing a caseload and developing individual support and risk management plans
- Facilitating group sessions and wellbeing activities
- Working collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to advocate for clients and safeguard their wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate, timely records using case management systems
- Contributing to a safe, welcoming and healthy environment for all service users
Interviews will be held on a rolling basis via Microsoft Teams.
About You
- Has experience supporting vulnerable individuals, ideally within a domestic abuse or similar support setting
- Communicates with empathy, professionalism and clarity
- Is confident using basic IT systems and maintaining accurate case records
- Can work flexibly, including occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle with business insurance
