Role Overview

Logistics/Porter – responsible for managing the flow of goods and items within BT’s building portfolios, controlling loading bay systems, supporting back‑of‑house teams and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move plants, equipment, furniture, deliveries, and materials around the site efficiently as required by the facilities team workstreams (security, material delivery, waste management strategy, cleaning, catering, and post).
  • Support planning of event logistics, including loading and unloading of equipment and moving around the building to the correct space; sign in event contractors.
  • Support the launch, use and training of the loading bay management system.
  • Manage all internal and external traffic and loading bay cleanliness; report and address equipment issues or breakdowns.
  • Plan and coordinate with key contractors to meet programme needs and deconflict on‑site space and time where appropriate.
  • Support evaluation of suitable delivery management booking systems.
  • Manage subcontractors to deliver their package of goods or services.
  • Support sustainability by managing waste movements on site and assisting with recycling initiatives.
  • Act as Control of Works Authorised Person (AP) and support identification of other relevant APs and Competent Persons (CPs) in the cluster.
  • Manage waste service provider and seek improvements with Facilities teams across the site.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.
  • Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high‑pressure, business‑critical environments.
  • Effective teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and manual handling.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to seek continuous improvement and portray vision, values and passion.
