Grounds Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

Contract: Permanent, Part‑time, 30 hours per week (All Year Round). Salary: Band 04, Points 5 to 6, starting at Point5. Actual starting salary: £20,743.20 per annum. Closing date: Wednesday10June2026.

Location: Bridgwater College Academy.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining school grounds to a high standard: mowing, hedge cutting, pruning, planting and general upkeep.
• Using a range of grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Keeping storage areas tidy and tools well‑maintained.
• Supporting the delivery of safe, accessible, and beautiful outdoor spaces for students and staff.
• Following environmental and health & safety policies while performing all duties.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping.
• Team player with a positive, can‑do attitude.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weathers.
• Enthusiasm for maintaining green spaces and sports pitches.
• Understanding of health & safety procedures and willingness to learn.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Horticulture or technical qualifications.
• Experience working in an educational or public setting.
• Familiarity with artificial turf maintenance or pesticide use (PA1/PA6).
• Full UK driving licence.
