Forklift Driver Vacancy

Full time temp-to-perm position based in Castle Donington (DE74), day shift Monday to Friday, immediate start.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Forklift Driver to join our client’s dynamic team in Castle Donington. As a Counterbalance Forklift Driver, you will play a key role in maintaining smooth warehouse operations while upholding the company values of diversity, equality, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move, load, and unload goods in the warehouse.
  • Perform general warehouse duties, including sorting, packing, and quality control of products.
  • Adhere strictly to company safety standards and protocols during forklift operation and warehouse tasks.
  • Conduct routine checks and maintenance of the forklift to ensure its operational safety.
  • Work collaboratively with the warehouse team to meet productivity and delivery deadlines.
  • Assist with van driving duties when needed to support deliveries or transport of goods.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment within the warehouse.

Qualifications

  • Valid Counterbalance or Reach Forklift Truck Certificate (ESSENTIAL).
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations as a Forklift Operator.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety standards in a logistics environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a warehouse setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when required.

Day-to-Day

  • Start your day with a team briefing to outline daily targets and priorities.
  • Inspect and operate the forklift truck while ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Efficiently load/unload vehicles or pallets and move items within the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operatives for seamless inventory management and order fulfilment.
  • Drive the delivery van as scheduled, ensuring timely transportation of goods to clients or branches.
  • Perform stock checks, assist with inventory control, and report any discrepancies.
  • Ensure the workspace and tools are clean, organized, and maintained at all times.
  • Other general warehouse duties within the candidate’s capability.

The working hours are 06:00‑14:10 Monday to Friday, with a basic pay rate of £13.06 per hour.

This is a full‑time, temp‑to‑perm opportunity for the right candidate.
