Night Shift HGV Technician – Stockport

The role of the HGV Technician:

Fully qualified HGV Fitter, HGV Mechanic, or HGV Technician living in the Stockport area, looking for a workshop‑based role on a 4 on / 4 off night shift (7 pm – 7 am). Pay is up to £52,000 per annum plus overtime.

This is a permanent, full‑time position with a company that services, maintains and repairs its own fleet.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of tractor and trailer units of differing makes, models and ages, including tankers.
• Carry out inspections on a diverse fleet.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare MOTs and conduct scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
• Conduct 6 or 8 weekly inspections.
• Improve vehicle standards.
• Inspect and correct electrical and wiring systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Fully qualified (City & Guilds) or NVQ comparable.
• Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification are desirable but not essential.
• Experience with trunk‑class and tractor‑type vehicles.
