Experienced Butcher

About the role

We are recruiting for an Experienced Butcher to join a well-established butcher shop based in West Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled butcher who enjoys a mix of hands‑on production work and customer interaction within a friendly, supportive, and close‑knit team.

Key responsibilities

• Breaking down larger carcasses received in quarters
• Preparing and processing meat for retail sale
• Working across a range of proteins including beef, lamb, poultry, and goat
• Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer‑facing counter service
• Supporting day‑to‑day shop and retail operations
• Working collaboratively within a small butchery team
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and presentation

What we’re looking for

• Have proven experience as a butcher with strong technical skills
• Be confident working with multiple species
• Be reliable, hardworking, and able to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
• Be comfortable working both behind the scenes and on the retail counter
• Have strong communication and customer service skills
• Enjoy working as part of a small, supportive team

Working hours

Day shifts, approximately 8:00am – 5:00pm
