Staffline is currently seeking dedicated and reliable Van Drivers to join our team in Doncaster.
As a van driver, you will have the opportunity to work through our agency, representing a highly reputable retail company.
The role primarily involves store deliveries, not home deliveries, providing a consistent workload throughout the year.
Both full‑time and part‑time positions are available, and weekend working is essential. We offer paid induction training to ensure your success in the role.
Pay Rates
- Days 06:00 to 22:00 – £13.35 per hour
- Nights 22:00 to 06:00 – £16.02 per hour
- Overtime Days after 40 hours – £20.03 per hour
- Overtime Nights after 40 hours – £24.04 per hour
- Bank Holiday Days – £26.70 per hour
- Bank Holiday Nights – £32.04 per hour
We offer shifts with start times between 6am and 10am. Ideal candidates would be flexible to work weekends. Rotas can accommodate various schedules: Sundays or Saturdays as rest days, or both weekend days with mid‑week rest days.
Work is available over 7 days, however, a driver must work either a Saturday or a Sunday.
Your Time at Work
As a Van driver, the work will involve store deliveries, customer collections, replenishment runs and home deliveries throughout the UK. You will be rewarded with excellent pay and working conditions, as well as flexible working options and ad‑hoc odd shifts. Your route will be between South Elmsall and Redhouse, Doncaster.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving vehicles to the highest standards and providing first‑class service to all customers.
- Ensuring smooth operation and meeting customer expectations.
- Carrying out manual handling with items no more than 15kg.
If you are successful in the interview stage, you will be required to complete a site assessment consisting of:
- Theory test
- Hazard perception test
- Vehicle checks
- Vehicle manoeuvre (usually reversing onto the bay)
- Drug & alcohol test (may be required)
Qualifications
- Car licence for more than 1 year (Cat B)
- No more than 6 points on licence
- Proven experience as a van driver, preferably in store deliveries (desirable, not essential)
- Good knowledge of Doncaster area and surrounding regions
- Excellent driving record and understanding of road traffic regulations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle goods with care
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work weekends (essential)
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time
