Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 3 pupil who exhibits significant behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding and impactful role where you’ll play a vital part in helping a child remain engaged in school and access learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide focused 1:1 behaviour support to a Year 3 pupil
• Use de-escalation and behaviour management techniques to diffuse challenging situations
• Work with the class teacher and external professionals to implement an individual support plan
• Support the pupil in completing academic work and staying engaged in learning
• Maintain a positive, consistent, and calm presence within the classroom
• Record and report behaviour incidents, progress, and interventions as required

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with pupils with SEND and/or challenging behaviour
• Team-Teach training (or willingness to complete training)
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
• A flexible and adaptable attitude, able to respond quickly to changing situations
