Repair Technician

Location: Cambridge (CB25)

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 8am until 4:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £27,000 to £35,000 dependent on experience

Polytec are looking for a Repair Technician for our client based just north of Cambridge. You may be required to visit customer premises to upgrade hardware.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and confirmation of Customer reported faults using manual and automated jigs and fixtures
• Disassembly and assembly of products and replacement of key components
• Inspection of repair work carried out
• Use of software tools required for the processing and repair of products
• Hardware modifications as part of internal/customer projects
• Ensure product turnaround times are met
• Training of Internal/External staff

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in a Repair/Service environment
• Soldering of PCBs and mechanical assembly/disassembly of products
• Ability to use relevant servicing tools/jigs and fixtures
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, as part of a team with minimum supervision
• Use of hot air gun to remove and replace components on PCB
• Ability to accurately follow work instructions
• Highly accurate and keen eye for detail
• Familiarity with MS Office (Excel/Word)
