Manufacturing Operations Manager
Intro
This is a high-impact leadership role with full ownership of manufacturing performance, financial results, and team development within a regulated environment. You will shape how products are made, how people are developed, and how operational excellence is delivered every day. It’s an opportunity to lead with purpose, influence site strategy, and drive measurable results across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Lead and direct day-to-day manufacturing operations to deliver safe, compliant, on-time and cost-effective production aligned to customer demand and business targets.
Own full profit and loss responsibility for the manufacturing area, including budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, operating expenses and capital investment.
Drive operational excellence by deploying lean manufacturing principles, daily management systems, standard work, problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve performance targets across safety, quality, delivery, cost, efficiency and engagement.
Establish, track and review operational performance metrics; identify trends and implement corrective actions to close gaps against agreed targets.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory, quality and environmental health and safety requirements, including active leadership in internal, external, corporate and regulatory audits.
Partner cross-functionally to support capacity planning, new product introductions and process changes, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and fully compliant.
Build, lead and develop a high-performing team of supervisors and production planning resources through structured performance management, training and succession planning.
Contribute to site strategic planning and lead operational improvement projects; deputise for the Site Lead as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Production Management, Engineering or a similar discipline.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a people management role.
Demonstrated experience managing manufacturing budgets and financial performance.
Demonstrated experience operating within a regulated manufacturing environment (for example, FDA, ISO or equivalent).
Preferred
Master’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience leading lean manufacturing or operational excellence initiatives.
Additional Information
Work Arrangement: On-site manufacturing leadership role.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required for business or training needs.
