Role Description

The Sales Account Manager will manage key client accounts in the South East, focus on building strong customer relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include identifying and pursuing new sales leads, developing effective account management strategies, providing seamless customer service, and maintaining open lines of communication with clients and internal teams. The candidate will also collaborate closely with engineers to provide tailored solutions for customer requirements. This is a balanced role, with approximately 60% focused on developing and growing existing customer accounts and 40% dedicated to identifying and securing new business opportunities.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

· Managing and developing a portfolio of existing accounts, building strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and market share.

· Proactively generating and converting new business opportunities across your territory, helping to drive continued company growth.

· Effectively managing your time and sales activities to maximise performance across both account management and business development responsibilities.

· Negotiating commercial agreements and successfully closing sales opportunities at all stages of the sales cycle.

· Delivering a high level of customer service, ensuring clients remain satisfied with our products, services, and support.

· Maintaining accurate customer records, sales activity, and pipeline information within our CRM system.

· Working closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met and projects are delivered successfully.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

· Previous experience in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial sales environment, with a track record of delivering commercial results

· The ability to identify customer challenges and provide tailored, value-driven solutions that meet their operational requirements

· Strong organisational skills, with experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office to effectively manage customer information and sales activities

· A proactive and results-oriented approach, with the determination to create opportunities, overcome objections, and achieve sales targets

· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to engage confidently with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders at all levels

· The self-motivation to work independently while contributing positively as part of a collaborative and supportive sales team

You may have experience working within the chemical, manufacturing, engineering, industrial, wastewater, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, petroleum, food processing, or nuclear sectors, and possess an understanding of industrial maintenance and process applications.

We are particularly interested in candidates with exposure to pumps, valves, fluid handling equipment, pumping systems, process equipment, or related engineering solutions. Knowledge of industries and organisations such as BPMA, BVAA, pump manufacturing, pump installation, maintenance engineering, or fluid handling systems would be advantageous.
