Connected Engineering is delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly respected engineering and manufacturing business in the search for a Project Quality Engineer.

Our client delivers complex, high-value engineering projects for customers operating in highly regulated and technically demanding industries. As they continue to grow and expand their project pipeline, they are looking to strengthen their quality team by adding an experienced quality professional who can drive quality excellence across the full project lifecycle.

The Opportunity

As a Project Quality Engineer, you will work closely with project, engineering, manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are effectively managed from project award through to final delivery.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for customer quality requirements, supplier quality management, audits, inspections and continuous improvement activities. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with customer specifications, industry standards and internal quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project teams in defining and delivering quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend customer and internal quality reviews to ensure compliance with project-specific requirements.
  • Review customer specifications and technical documentation.
  • Develop project quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, customer specifications and quality procedures.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits.
  • Carry out supplier inspections and quality assessments.
  • Manage supplier quality performance and documentation approval processes.
  • Support the resolution of non-conformances and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Liaise directly with customer quality representatives and third-party inspectors.
  • Review engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation for quality and manufacturability considerations.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of the company’s quality management system.

About You

  • Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Qualified Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or project-based quality environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience managing supplier quality activities and audits.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
