Commercial Manager – Data Centres – Europe

Salary/Rate: Up to £120,000 + Package or circa £500/day (Outside IR35)

O’Neill & Brennan are currently working with a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong international presence and an impressive pipeline of secured data centre projects across Europe. Due to continued growth and several major project awards, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their specialist team delivering large-scale, technically complex data centre developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Manager looking to work on some of the most high-profile mission-critical projects in Europe, with full relocation support provided including flights, accommodation and living allowance.

You will work closely with senior operational and commercial teams, taking ownership of the commercial function on major projects from procurement through to final account.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of major data centre construction projects.
  • Oversee procurement, subcontractor management and contract administration.
  • Manage project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow.
  • Negotiate and agree subcontractor accounts and variations.
  • Work closely with project delivery teams to maximise commercial performance.
  • Prepare and present commercial reports to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage risk and ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support and mentor junior commercial team members where required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects.
  • Previous experience with Tier 1 Main Contractors preferred.
  • Data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or major infrastructure project experience advantageous.
  • Strong contractual knowledge, particularly JCT and NEC forms of contract.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to relocate and work on projects across Europe.
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction-related qualification.
