  • £10.90 – £13.14 per hour

Job Introduction

As a Subway Sandwich Artist at Sodexo in Royal Stoke Hospital, you’ll play an important part in preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patient recovery and wellbeing. You’ll also help maintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas. With a cheerful attitude and great customer service, your presence can make a real difference in someone’s day. What you’ll do

  • Prepare and produce Subway food for daily service in line with brand specifications and food safety standards
  • Receive, check, store, and rotate stock correctly to minimise waste and ensure product quality
  • Maintain high standards of food storage, preparation, hygiene, and uniform compliance
  • Ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests in line with health, safety, and training requirements
  • Deliver excellent customer service, promote Subway and Sodexo brands, and support positive survey results
  • Operate and declare the till accurately, capturing all revenue and completing daily bread counts
  • Stay informed on promotions, maintain appropriate stock levels, and upsell products following Subway University training
  • Complete required training, appraisals, competency checks, and carry out additional duties to support smooth operations

What you bring

  • Previous food preparation and customer service experience, ideally within a fast‑paced or Subway environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2 Food Safety desirable) with good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and colleagues at all levels
  • Strong time management, organisational skills, and ability to work well under pressure
  • Self‑motivated, positive attitude to learning, and able to work effectively as part of a team
