Job Description:

The post holder will berequired to lead om implementation and embedding all the elements of moderngeneral practice at their surgery site in order to achieve and maintaincompliance with the new GP contract.

The role will be tooptimise the patients journey and be an ambassador for the practice. Thepurpose of the post holder is to take every opportunity to ensure that thepatients presenting issue is managed in the most appropriate way. This role willinclude ensuring all PCT staff are trained and competent in care navigation andworkflow. They will be first point of contact for members of the PCT and takeresponsibility for the day to day running of the reception and the team.

Main duties of the job

  • Be an integral member of the site Reception PCT, working alongside the staff.
  • Induction and training of all members of the PCT to agreed standards and ongoing review.
  • Update HR records as necessary.
  • On an ongoing basis gather data to ensure staffing levels are matched to demand.
  • Suggest ideas for service improvements.
  • Use the principles of modern general practice to maximise opportunities for streamlining processes and improving the patient journey.
  • Support the Practice in developing approved business changes that include process improvements and assist in embedding these into daily operations/contribute to increasing clinical effectiveness.
  • Assist in the timely production of relevant information for patients, clinicians and 3rd Party services.
  • Work closely with PCN staff, keep up to date with services to maximise opportunities to signpost to PCN.
  • Review and maintain GP/ANP rotas.
  • Review and report on room utilisation.
  • Have full understanding of the appointment system.
  • Have a working knowledge of all software and hardware.
  • Deal with IT problems in the absence of the Deputy PM.
  • Train staff in use of system.
  • Seek to resolve any day-to-day staff issues locally. If not possible, elevate to the deputy PM for action.

West Leeds Family Practice is a very forward thinking practice, with a patient base of approximately 20K based across 3 sites. We are a training practice and place emphasis on training and development. We have 5 GP partners and are located across 3 sites. We are looking to employ someone who puts patients at the heart of all we do. We operate a triage system and value the importance of good care navigation to direct patients to the most appropriate service.

The post holder will have a single site as the main location but would be expected to cover the other 2 sites when required.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a GP surgery.

£30,000 to £31,500 a year Dependant on experience
