Due to continued growth, our client a leading employer in the local area is currently looking to recruit aBuyerto join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a hugely successful business and join a busy procurement team.

The Role

• Manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities to reduce cost for purchasing requirements for the business
• Ensuring procurement processes align with company quality, cost and delivery objectives
• Analyse market trends to identify opportunities and risks within categories
• Developing strategies for sourcing, supplier management, negotiation and supplier relationships
• Negotiate prices, terms and lead times with suppliers to achieve best possible results that meet company needs
• Monitor supplier performance whilst addressing and resolving any reoccurring issues as quickly and efficiently as possible
• Continually challenge and improve upon current practices and procedures
• Manage and maintain stock levels and investigate any issues that may arise
• Support and implement category and commodity strategy

Essential Criteria

• A minimum of 3 years (+) experience in a procurement / purchasing role
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload
• Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team
• Committed and motivated
• A positive can-do attitude
