Role: Family Solicitor

Salary: £32,000 – £40,000

The Role
Due to continued growth and internal development, the firm is seeking a Family Solicitor with 1‑2 years’ PQE to join their successful and collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior solicitor looking to develop their career within a respected practice, handling high‑quality family law work alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of family law matters from instruction through to conclusion, including:
- Divorce and separation: advising clients on the legal process, preparing and issuing applications, and progressing matters efficiently while providing clear, practical guidance at each stage
- Financial remedy proceedings: assisting and advising on financial settlements, including disclosure, negotiations, and preparation for court hearings where required
- Private children matters: supporting clients in disputes relating to child arrangements, parental responsibility, and other child‑focused issues, always with a sensitive and pragmatic approach
- Taking ownership of files with appropriate supervision, ensuring all matters are progressed in a timely and organised manner
- Supporting senior solicitors on more complex and high‑value cases, including assisting with case preparation, drafting legal documents, liaising with counsel, and attending client meetings and court where appropriate
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and clear communication, particularly given the sensitive nature of family law matters
- Keeping clients regularly updated on case progress and managing expectations effectively
- Ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal procedures, including file management, time recording, and adherence to SRA standards
- Contributing positively to the wider team by collaborating with colleagues and supporting a high standard of client service across the department
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 1‑2 years’ PQE in family law
- Demonstrable experience handling your own caseload
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A client‑focused and empathetic approach
