Overview

Field is an international builder, owner and operator of renewable infrastructure, focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany. The role of Assistant Treasurer is a senior, high‑impact hire that will elevate the capability of Field’s Treasury function, reporting directly to the Group Treasurer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Project Finance – Lead day‑to‑day management and compliance monitoring of project finance and secured debt facilities across the group’s UK and European asset portfolio; oversee and develop the group’s debt financial model; support new debt raises, refinancings and facility amendments; manage relationships with lenders, monitoring agents and technical advisors; ensure robust debt compliance processes.
  • Surety Bond & Trade Finance – Own and manage the group’s surety bond programme, negotiating and executing new bond lines, administering the existing portfolio and managing relationships with surety providers; identify optimisation opportunities; lead negotiations on trade finance facilities.
  • Hedging & Derivative Execution – Negotiate, document and execute ISDA Master Agreements and CSAs; execute interest‑rate, FX and commodity hedging programmes; maintain ISDA documentation register and monitor CSA exposure.
  • Insurance – Own the group’s insurance programme, coordinating with brokers to ensure coverage across operational and construction‑phase assets; lead annual renewal process; manage transition of assets from construction to operation.
  • Team Leadership & Treasury Management – Coordinate debt and structured finance projects; support the Group Treasurer in developing treasury policy and governance; assist in treasury accounting and hedge accounting under IFRS 9.
  • Operational & Cash Management – Oversee day‑to‑day treasury operations, cash management, short‑term investments and liquidity monitoring; support international banking expansion; maintain counterparty credit risk monitoring.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Significant treasury or structured finance experience within infrastructure, energy or project finance.
  • Proven track record in executing and managing secured debt facilities, compliance and lender management.
  • Direct experience negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and CSAs; knowledge of IR, FX and commodity derivatives.
  • Hands‑on experience with surety bond lines or trade finance facilities.
  • Strong financial modelling skills in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including presentation to senior leaders and external advisors.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Background in energy transition, renewables or battery storage infrastructure.
  • Experience in a scale‑up or growing business with developing processes.
  • Familiarity with hedge accounting under IFRS 9.
  • Professional qualification: ACT (AMCT/MCT), CFA, ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Leadership experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
