Senior Estimator

Salary: £52,000 – £62,000 depending upon experience, plus car allowance.

Location: Hereford area. Candidates must be within an approximate 45‑minute commute, with flexible or remote work options of two‑three days per week.

Employment type: Full‑time, permanent, 08:30 – 17:00.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with pre‑qualification submissions (PQQs) and appraisal of tender opportunities.
  • Review tender documentation and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • Measure and price materials, labour and subcontract packages.
  • Manage project costs from procurement through to final account.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide commercial and contractual support to project teams.
  • Help ensure projects are delivered within budget and financial targets.

About You

Essential

  • Proven experience as an estimator or quantity surveyor.
  • Experience across a range of construction sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, cost management and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable

  • Relevant qualification (HNC/HND, degree or equivalent).
  • Experience within the UK construction market.
  • Full UK driving licence.
