Overview

Join us as a Barclays Private Banker. This role offers bespoke banking and investment solutions to ultra-high net worth clients, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and managing the needs of private individuals and families in West Africa. Location: London.

Responsibilities

  • Management of client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance; analyze data from sources including investment portfolios and cash flow to identify trends and opportunities for additional services.
  • Research and understanding of client industries, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Design of customised wealth management solutions using a range of products and services from Barclays’ portfolio.
  • Communication of the value proposition, justification of recommendations, and negotiation of terms beneficial for both client and bank.
  • Provide guidance to clients on financial decisions, offering investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies, and updates on market trends.
  • Assess financial, legal, and operational risks in client relationships and implement measures to minimise potential losses.
  • Document all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability; inform product development and service offerings as needed.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and revenue metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Relationship management experience with private clients, specifically managing needs of private individuals and families in West Africa (Nigeria and Ghana).
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry, ideally in retail regulated products and services for mass market and high net worth customers and asset management.
  • Ability to understand client needs and advise on a diverse range of wealth management solutions.
  • RDR Level 4 qualification.
  • Strong digital acumen and private banking experience; business development and cold calling skills.
