Overview

Policing is not simply a job for police officers. It actually requires a large multi-disciplined team, working together and making best use of the skills and resources available.

As a part of the Crime Recording & Resolution Unit in the Force Contact Crime and Operations Branch the aim of this role is to provide a 24‑hour service to members of the public, operational officers and partners dealing with incident and crime reports.

You will need to seek all opportunities to appropriately, ethically and professionally assist the informant as near as possible to the first point of contact and provide them with a clear understanding of how their contact will be progressed. You will also apply a victim‑orientated approach to crime recording and problem solving, focusing on protecting members of the public and keeping them safe.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a 24‑hour public, operational officers and partner contact service.
  • Assist informants ethically and professionally at first point of contact.
  • Apply victim‑orientated approach to crime recording and problem solving.
  • Maintain good attendance record during training and mentoring periods.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • At least 3 years residency in the UK.
  • Right to work in the UK for full-time schedule.
  • Good record of attendance during last two years.
  • Ability to attend weekend and night shifts as per schedule.
