Banana Moon Day Nursery is excited to announce the opening of our recently opened new nursery and we are seeking a dedicated and proactive Room Leader to join our team. As a Room Leader in our new nursery, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and develop our early years environment from the ground up, creating a nurturing and stimulating setting for young children to thrive.
Your role will involve leading and managing your room team, planning and delivering high-quality care and educational activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and ensuring excellent communication with parents and colleagues. You will play a key part in establishing our nursery’s culture, standards, and reputation within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of nursery practitioners to provide outstanding childcare and learning experiences
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum activities based on EYFS
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children, parents, and staff
- Monitor and assess children’s development and progress, maintaining accurate records
- Build strong relationships with families and encourage their involvement in nursery life
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and nursery policies
- Act as a role model and mentor for the team, providing training and support as needed

Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or a relevant childcare qualification
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team effectively
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Passion for delivering high-quality childcare and education
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the nursery
