Lead Electrophysiology Technologist – Maryview Medical Center
Job Summary
Serves as the lead for day‑to‑day operations and tasks of the electrophysiology department. The Technologist functions as a scrub tech, circulator, and/or monitor during procedures under the direction of a cardiologist. Responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting procedural data, providing effective patient care at all acuity levels, precepting new employees and students, maintaining inventory and billing, performing all procedures per protocol, and participating in quality assurance and performance improvement programs. Equitable participation in call coverage is required if applicable.
Essential Functions
- Age Appropriate Competency: Demonstrates general competency in providing age‑appropriate care, planning, delivering, and evaluating based on the patient’s physiological, psychosocial, intellectual, and safety developmental needs.
- Utilizes appropriate processes and documents in accordance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory standards for patients admitted, transferred, or discharged in the invasive procedural area.
- Provides comprehensive care to patients.
- Functions in all roles of the electrophysiology laboratory (scrub, monitor, and circulate).
- Acts as a qualified team member in the administration of moderate sedation under direct physician supervision where applicable.
- Provides care in compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care, including administration of medications, contrast, and IV fluids under physician or nurse direction.

Education
- Completion of a Cardiovascular Technology program (preferred)
Required Licensing & Certifications
- BLS Basic Life Support, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire; must be obtained from an approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS or PALS required based on specialty assignment)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) (required)
Experience
- Two years of electrophysiology experience (required)
