The Team
The Corporate team is one of the firm’s flagship practices, led by highly ranked Partners that have national recognition. The team advises on the full spectrum of corporate work, including mergers and acquisitions, disposals, fundraising, private equity, equity capital markets, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, reorganisations, and corporate governance. It combines true national reach with deep‑rooted local presence, giving junior lawyers exposure to substantial, high‑quality transactions without being lost in a faceless department.
The Role
You will work as part of a seamless national team, gaining hands‑on experience across a wide range of corporate matters. You will contribute to M&A transactions, shareholders’ agreements, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, and venture capital or private equity deals. You will be supported and supervised by senior lawyers who are committed to developing talent, with early opportunities to take on responsibility for discrete workstreams and build direct client contact.
Business development and networking are encouraged from the start, and you will be actively supported in building your own profile and client relationships. The firm’s culture is one where questions are welcomed, progression is structured, and career development is a shared priority.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified solicitor with 1+ years’ PQE in corporate law, gained at a reputable firm
- A strong interest in transactional work and a solid foundation in corporate legal principles
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- A self‑starting, enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to learn and take ownership
- A collaborative, team‑focused approach and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
