Interim Legal Counsel – (6-Month Contract)
Location: London (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days per week in the office)
Duration: 6 months
An international financial institution is seeking an experienced Interim Legal Counsel to join its Legal team on a 6-month contract.
This role focuses on providing legal support for technology, operations, and procurement matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating ICT-related contracts and advising on regulatory developments affecting third‑party and outsourcing arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate ICT services and outsourcing contracts, including cloud computing, managed services, and software/SaaS agreements.
- Advise on legal, contractual, and regulatory risks relating to third‑party and procurement activities across EMEA.
- Support compliance with UK/EBA outsourcing guidelines, the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), and related regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update standard contract templates, checklists, and playbooks for ICT and outsourcing agreements.
- Provide general commercial legal support and guidance to procurement and technology stakeholders.
- Collaborate with legal teams globally (including EMEA, Americas, and Tokyo offices) on cross‑border matters.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent)
- Solid experience drafting and negotiating ICT and technology contracts in a financial services, corporate, or law firm setting.
- Strong knowledge of outsourcing regulations, data protection (GDPR), and commercial law.
- Ability to manage complex workloads across multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a pragmatic and commercial approach.
