Area Sales Engineer – East of Scotland

On behalf of our client we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced field‑based Area Sales Engineer with a proven track record as a business developer and sales professional in the Electrical Control and Automation industry.

Responsibilities

• Sell a range of high‑quality industrial automation products, including PLC, HMI, variable speed drives, control gear, switchgear and circuit protection, sensors, switchgear and process instrumentation components and solutions.
• Target OEM, end‑user, system integrator and panel builder markets throughout the East of Scotland, with ideal locations around Edinburgh, Dundee, Kirkaldy, Perth and Dunfermline.
• Achieve defined sales targets and develop a personal plan to reach objectives.
• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of accounts while seeking new business opportunities.
• Travel extensively as required for a field‑based role, maintaining flexibility to meet business needs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Sales and technical experience in the industrial automation industry with a proven record of sales success.
• Formal qualification in an electrical or electronic discipline to ONC/HND level or above is desirable but not essential.
• Proven ability to demonstrate knowledge and sales capability, with a willingness for further career development training.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, effective team player with autonomous working style.
• Competence with Microsoft productivity packages.
• Capability to promote from within and interest in potential future roles.
