Position Overview
We are inviting applications for a Consultant in Paediatric Haematology at the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC), Glasgow. The role is full‑time, based on a 10‑session weekly schedule: 1/8 ward, 1/5 laboratory and 1/5 transplant on‑call. The successful applicant will provide care to children with leukaemia, solid tumours, bleeding disorders, haemoglobinopathy and other haematological conditions, and will also be involved in the ongoing development of Immune Effector Cell and Gene Therapy.
Responsibilities
- Provide in‑patient, day‑care, clinic and laboratory care for paediatric patients with leukaemia, solid tumours, bleeding disorders, haemoglobinopathy and non‑malignant haematological conditions.
- Manage patients undergoing haematopoietic stem‑cell transplant.
- Participate in the development of Immune Effector Cell and Gene Therapy programmes.
- Contribute to the National Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Unit, caring for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Qualifications
- Appropriate experience and qualification in paediatric haematology.
- Fully registered with the GMC and licensed to practice.
- UK-trained clinicians: evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR), or within six months of confirmed entry from interview date.
- Non‑UK applicants: demonstration of equivalent training.
