Key Responsibilities and Duties:

The Role

As CNC Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for leading our Machine and Pattern Shop operations—ensuring work is scheduled effectively, teams are developed, and production aligns with delivery targets.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Machine Shop and Pattern Shop teams
  • Schedule departmental workload in line with monthly delivery plans
  • Oversee performance, attendance, and development of team members
  • Coach and mentor apprentices, operators, and programmers
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards
  • Maintain and enforce health & safety compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and output
  • Coordinate with Production and other departments to meet delivery targets

Key Skills and Competencies:

The Candidate

Skills & Experience

  • Must have eligibility to work in the UK, no sponsorship will be offered
  • Proven management experience within automotive, motorsport, or manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining
  • Programming background or demonstrable experience working with programming software (hypermill would be ideal)
  • Working knowledge of using / and or managing multiple 5 axis machines
  • Clear experience of managing a diverse M/C shop team (programmers, setters and operators, pattern and blocking up staff etc)
  • Materials: experience in machining carbon, metallics, MDF / Model board etc
  • Ability to schedule and organise inputs from planning, material ordering and production management
  • Experience in composites machining
  • Ability to manage teams in a fast‑paced production environment
  • Experience within an SME environment (desirable)
  • Engineering qualification or equivalent hands‑on experience
