Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Information and Records Management Service (IRMS) within Lancashire County Council.

The Team

The IRMS has several teams supporting Council departments in managing their data. This advert is for a Team Leader to work within the Access Team, supporting this function. The IRMS service is responsible for both physical and digital tasks, e.g. the digitisation and associated processes of Social Care and Corporate data, managing and auditing the physical holdings of records, investigating and resolving any issues arising via emails and other sources, and sharing information with third parties following Information Governance rules.

The Role

The role involves using specific software to process and update information and requires the ability to work in a warehouse environment. We are looking for people with excellent leadership skills, including communication and ICT skills, who are comfortable using a wide range of software systems to ensure statutory and legislative obligations are met.

Experience and confidence when leading/managing people is essential. Our service uses bespoke records management software along with MS365 and Teams, and you will manage a team of people, requiring you to call/video‑conference, schedule meetings, interrogate systems and navigate a laptop and new systems confidently and well.

About You

You will be good at using your initiative and prioritising work when solving problems; communication and teamwork are key. You will be a go‑getter who isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in, as well as motivating others. This role involves working with sensitive information in line with current legislation. Data protection and information governance is at the heart of what we do.

It is an exciting time to become part of the team, as technology evolves and the way we work adapts, giving an opportunity to develop and grow as a service and as individuals.

You will work in a team to achieve personal, team and service goals, while displaying LCC’s values of being supportive, innovative, respectful and collaborative.

Location

This role is based at Marsh Lane/County Hall, Preston.
