Position Details

About The Role & Team

  • Support the Careers Hub team at Gloucestershire County Council Employment and Skills Hub.
  • Develop and promote accessible information on careers within the clean energy and green economy.
  • Research and map local and national education and training pathways so students, job seekers and those looking to upskill can access opportunities in green careers.
  • Work closely with schools, colleges, training providers, employers and wider partners to promote green skills pathways and raise awareness of careers in areas such as clean energy, retrofit, carbon reduction and environmental sustainability.
  • Contribute to the development of engaging resources, support events and outreach activity, and ensure all information is accessible, up‑to‑date and relevant to a range of audiences.

About You

  • Organised, proactive and able to work collaboratively with stakeholders such as education providers, employers, and community organisations.
  • Strong research and communication skills, able to present information clearly and creatively across various platforms.
  • Experience with data and labour market information, able to identify trends and translate findings into useful resources.
  • Knowledge of education and training pathways, including apprenticeships and technical routes, with an interest in sustainability, clean energy or green skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, build effective relationships and engage diverse audiences, including under‑represented groups in green sectors.
  • Familiar with AI tools, including prompt engineering, and capable of using these tools to create clear and engaging pathways for job seekers and those wishing to upskill.
  • Must be able to demonstrate confidence in spoken English as required under the Immigration Act 2016 for a customer‑facing role.
  • Right to work in the UK for a minimum of 6 months; sponsorship is not available for this role.
