Job Description:

Senior Analytics Manager – Commercial Operations

Work on the inside of one of Europe’s biggest health & wellness transformations. Lead a high‑performing analytics function that powers pricing, trading, and stock decisions across Holland & Barrett’s Commercial Operations.

About the Role

At Holland & Barrett (H&B), we want to empower everyone to live healthier, happier lives. With over 150 years of experience, we’re the largest health & wellness retailer in Europe and a globally trusted brand. Our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted wellness partner, chosen by over 100 million people worldwide.

Our Analytics organisation is structured into five verticals: four embedded analytics areas aligned to key business functions, and a central Business Intelligence team focused on cross‑functional reporting and performance enablement. Together with our Data Engineering and Data Science colleagues, we make data a strategic lever to achieve H&B’s goals.

As Senior Analytics Manager in the Core Business Analytics team, you will lead the Commercial (Ops) analytics vertical—covering pricing, promotions, stock exit, and operational performance. You’ll manage a team of analysts, set the direction for how data is used across Commercial Ops, and partner closely with stakeholders in Trading, Pricing, Commercial Ops, and Supply Chain. This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week expected in our Nuneaton office.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the analytics roadmap for Commercial Operations across pricing, stock exit, margin performance, and trading analytics.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Analysts (mid and senior levels).
  • Partner with stakeholders across Trading, Pricing, Commercial Ops, and Supply Chain to shape priorities and drive impact through data.
  • Ensure delivery of dashboards and tools in Metabase that enable better decision‑making on pricing, promotions, and markdowns.
  • Own planning and prioritisation across analytics workstreams, coordinating delivery with the BI and Data Engineering teams.
  • Guide deep‑dive analysis into pricing performance, margin impact, and stock clearance effectiveness.
  • Ensure high standards in analytics output, including documentation, scalability, and reproducibility.
  • Influence strategy by embedding data in key commercial forums and decision cycles.
  • Champion the use of data across the commercial org, raising data literacy and coaching stakeholders on how to use insights.
  • Work with a modern data stack, including Redshift, BigQuery, Matillion, and Retool.

What We’re Looking For

Core Skills & Behaviours

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and grow a team of analysts, building a culture of delivery, curiosity, and collaboration.
  • Commercial analytics expertise: Deep understanding of trading, pricing, margin, and product lifecycle in a retail context.
  • Stakeholder influence: Trusted partner to Heads of Trading, Pricing, and Commercial Ops; able to translate business needs into analytical strategy.
  • Delivery ownership: Comfortable managing multiple workstreams, aligning resources, and delivering through others.
  • Technical understanding: Strong SQL fluency and experience overseeing analytics products built in Metabase or equivalent BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Communication: Able to present complex insights clearly and credibly at all levels, from squad to exec forums.
  • Collaboration: Works across functions with BI, Supply, Product, and Data teams to land scalable data solutions.

Education & Experience

You have a degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or Engineering. You have 6+ years of experience in analytics—at least 2–4 years in a team management or senior stakeholder‑facing role, ideally in a retail or commercial operations context.
