Overview

Structured Trading Group (STG) is the main hub for structured products, responsible for structuring, trading, and managing structured derivatives in interest rates, FX, and hybrid products.

Main Purpose

The role is accountable for the Structured Trading Group’s operations, risk management, controls, and business development within the broader MUFG framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the departmental strategy and ensure alignment with regional and global business objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental mandates, Trader Charter, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Manage and monitor product/domain book risks, ensuring limits set by Risk Management and the Risk Management Committee are respected.
  • Price, trade, and manage risks for structured products, achieving assigned profit and loss targets.
  • Develop client-focused products in partnership with Sales, Trading, and Research teams.
  • Foster relationships with stakeholders, including business and control/infrastructure teams globally.
  • Prepare and manage direct budget expenditures as required.
  • Contribute to franchise and business growth through collaboration with broader GM, GCIB, and JCIB teams.

Risk Management

  • Accurately price all new transactions and risk positions using market-leading methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with approved risk limits and regulatory requirements (Volcker, EMIR, MIFID, etc.).
  • Escalate issues related to risk management, regulatory compliance, and operational risks in a timely manner.
  • Protect the firm’s reputation in all activities.
  • Drive sustainable, client-focused, flow-oriented business expansion.
  • Leverage and enhance MUFG’s customer franchise to maximize profitability.

Controls and Compliance

  • Follow all relevant policies and procedures personally and ensure team compliance.
  • Lead the team to understand responsibilities, comply with policies, and conduct themselves according to MUFG values.

People Management (If applicable)

  • Recruit and develop a team of high-quality professionals aligned with the product/domain objectives.
  • Ensure staff are trained, performance reviews are conducted annually, and regulatory competency requirements are met.
  • Maintain clear duty delegation and documentation for regulatory obligations.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders across regions.

Work Experience

  • At least 3 years of working experience at major financial institutions.
  • Experience managing significant risks in non-linear derivatives.
  • Experience pricing complex derivatives in Rates or Hybrid products.

Desired Experience

Track record of revenue generation.

Skills and Experience

Core Competencies

  • Knowledge of financial markets and instruments, including derivatives.
  • Strong numerical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong risk‑management discipline.
  • Proficiency in coding (preferred).

Education / Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent work experience (required).
  • Master’s degree (preferred).
