Role Overview
MetLife Investment Management (MIM) has successfully acquired PineBridge as of December 30, 2025. MetLife Investment Management and PineBridge Investments now offer a broader reach and specialized capabilities, forming a top‑tier global investment platform. The Trader role will be based in London with an expectation of a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- Execute trades on the desk, including EM Corps, European Credit, EM Sovereigns, G10 Rates, EM Rates and FX.
- Ensure the desk is error‑free and work with MO on any failed trades or other issues.
- Manage EUR hedging of EM accounts via forwards and cross‑currency swaps, ensuring all guideline limits are met.
- Provide trading insights and market commentary in weekly and monthly meetings; create and present weekly packs with UST views.
- Manage the MIFID II research process, including research contract negotiations and Broker Data meeting.
- Identify and implement development opportunities for the desk, including new systems and counterparties.
- Stay updated on regulatory and compliance changes.
- Collaborate with analysts to generate new investment ideas.
- Work closely with PMs on idea generation, new issue pricing and cash management.
- Present trading colour in weekly meetings.
- Participate in client meetings.
- Assist the Portfolio Risk Strategist.
Qualifications
- Experience trading FI products, ideally with a strong understanding of EM Corps, European Credit, EM Sovereigns, G10 Rates, EM Rates and FX.
- Strong programming knowledge with R, SQL, Python and pandas.
- Knowledge of portfolio construction and client interaction.
- Good communicator with proven presentation skills.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Team player with flexibility to adapt and grow as responsibilities increase.
- Independent, self‑motivated individual who can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Demonstrable experience is ideal, including back office/middle office experience.
