Medical Device Programme Lead

A Cambridge-based medical technologies company is seeking a proven engineering leader to guide high-value development programmes from concept through to transfer to manufacture. Your leadership will accelerate development timelines, manage risk and deliver results that tangibly improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead development programmes for medical devices from concept through to manufacture transfer, with a focus on drug delivery systems including injectables, infusion pumps, microcatheters and active implants.
• Provide strategic and commercial direction, identify opportunities, and mentor and coach others within the company.
• Accelerate development timelines, manage risk, and deliver measurable results that improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across technical and commercial areas and communicate effectively with stakeholders across international partners.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading complex development programmes for medical devices, ideally in drug delivery.
• Strong hands-on engineering background in the medical sector, encompassing mechanical and systems engineering from initial concept through to manufacture.
• Good general understanding of the drug delivery market, including regulatory requirements and commercial demands.
• Willingness to travel internationally for meetings with clients, investors, and manufacturing/production partners, and strong communication skills.
