Overview

Lead Crypto Software Engineer – Front-Office role in the Digital-Markets Group, London (5 days on-site). Package to £180k + bonus.

• Active hedge-fund portfolios – senior traders running high-conviction, alpha-seeking strategies.
• Multi-asset index business – bridging equities, crypto and gold with fully transparent benchmarks.
• Capital-markets & treasury unit – building ultra-low-latency trading tech and providing execution across all desks.

Revenue is climbing fast and the trading floor now needs a hands-on Lead Engineer to spearhead brand-new builds.

Responsibilities

• Front-row seat on FX, equities, commodities and crypto flows – no bonds, no credit.
• Code 70 % of your week in Python 3.12 and Go 1.22; dip into C++/Java when micro-seconds matter.
• Tackle venue gateways, market-data ingestion and order-routing at serious scale.
• Direct succession path to Head of Engineering.
• Decisions made in minutes; prod releases in days.
• High-end compensation: strong base, bonus and full benefits.

Day-to-day

• Design and ship green-field low-latency services for pricing and execution.
• Remain hands-on while guiding a tight squad of engineers.
• Pair with traders to prototype, test and deploy new strategies at speed.
• Champion automated testing, observability and airtight security.

Qualifications

• Front-office / buy-side experience in FX, equities, commodities or crypto.
• Deep expertise in Python or Go, plus working knowledge of C++ or Java.
• Proven record building exchange-connectivity or execution-flow systems.
• Delivery focus – comfortable smashing blockers and tight timelines.
• Leadership across architecture, SDLC and developer mentoring.
• Willingness to be in the London office every day.
